Introduction:
As we step out of 2024 and into 2025, it’s a moment to pause, reflect, and give honor to God for all He has done. Through every challenge, He has brought us through. Through every need, He has provided. Through every storm, He has protected us and covered us in His unfailing glory. This is a time to lift our hearts in gratitude and start the year with praise and joy unto Him, recognizing His faithfulness in every season. However, as we embrace this new chapter, we are reminded that the journey is far from over. While we celebrate His goodness, we must also prepare ourselves for the work ahead.
Matthew 9:37– “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few “
Each of us is called to be a laborer in His name, carrying the light of His love into a world that desperately needs it. Yet, to do this effectively, we must stay rooted in a firm foundation, understanding that we face a real and active adversary.
1 Peter 5:8: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.”
This verse serves as a call to awareness and preparation. It reminds us that the enemy is always seeking opportunities to weaken our faith, distract us, or sow fear. But we are not powerless. God has equipped us with everything we need to stand firm and overcome.
Revelation 12:11: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
Here lies the secret to victory: the blood of Jesus and the power of our testimony. It is through His sacrifice that we are covered, redeemed, and empowered to defeat the enemy. And it is through boldly declaring His works in our lives that we continue to walk in that victory. Reflect for a moment on all the ways God has shown up for you. Think of the times He provided when you had nothing, protected you when danger was near, or gave you peace in the midst of chaos. These moments are not just personal victories; they are testimonies of His faithfulness. By proclaiming them, you not only remind yourself of His goodness but also declare His power over every circumstance. To deepen this understanding and strengthen our spiritual foundation, it is important to speak life-giving truths over ourselves. Words have power.
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue.” What we declare over our lives shapes how we walk in faith and engage with the challenges before us.
